My paintings are a celebration of nature and a recognition of the healing properties that its beauty offers us. In our frenetic world of today I feel that this is more important than ever, and that beauty can serve as an uplifting reminder of the preciousness of our planet.

I paint with many glazes of transparent and opaque hues, building up a richness of both colour and texture. My work reflects a highly realistic style combined with flowing abstract lines and brushstrokes that animate the canvas. I am focusing on three main series – Planets, Landscapes and Flowers.

I came across the idea that a painting can slow down time, that it is a gift of anti-speed. The onlooker can wander through the painted image at leisure, following the colour changes, brushstrokes, perspectives and light effects and be drawn into a timeless experience.

I have Fine Art Degrees from McGill University, Ontario College of Art and Design (OCAD), the American School of Art, Paris, France, York University. I show my creations in the Niagara-on-the-Lake Gallery Artspace 106, with the Niagara Artists Collective (NAC), as well as in Toronto and in group shows throughout Canada.
